Why is milling important

The most frequent application of milling is to reduce the particle size in paints. inks and coatings further than high speed dispersion is able to achieve.

Milling can: 

• reduce the mean particle size
  
• develop colour strength
• develop opacity 
• the smaller particles generated during the milling process are stabilised, preventing renewed association (flocculation).
