How a horizontal bead mill worksA horizontal bead mill works by small ceramic beads to grind and reduce the size of particles through the action of impact and attrition. The material is pumped into a horizontal chamber filled with the grinding beads, which are agitated by a rotating shaft with discs or impellers. Over time the high-speed action of the beads against each other and against the material reduces the particle size downto the desired size. The beads are separated from the millbase and retained inside the milling chamber by a screen or a dynamic gap.
