SK4 Production Basket Mills

The TORUSMILL® SK4 are high‒efficient immersion mills with which excellent grinding results can be achieved in very short time. The TORUSMILL® SK4 basket mill is available from 15 kW up to 22 kW motor power for processing low and medium viscosity products. The clamping device of the TORUSMILL® SK4 immersion mill is suitable for container sizes up to 750 liters. The effective circulation of the mill base through the grinding basket is achieved through an integrated, patented pump wheel. This provides a high number of passes, and a narrow particle size. The dissolver disc mounted below the milling basket ensures a milling of the millbase within the milling container with minimal dead volumes.
The stable cover of the TORUSMILL® SK4 immersion mill enables easy height adjustment of the shaft even during the fine grinding process. The cover rests securely on the container edge during the grinding process. The cover is equipped with a product feed system as a standard. Various options, such as LED lighting, a PT100 temperature sensor, a Liquiphant level switch (also in ATEX), or sight glasses and various filling funnels are available for the container cover. SK5 Production Basket Mills

The TORUSMILL® SK5 are high‒efficient immersion mills with which excellent grinding results can be achieved in very short time. The TORUSMILL® SK5 basket mill is available from 30 kW up to 45 kW motor power for processing low and medium viscosity products. The clamping device of the TORUSMILL® SK5 immersion mill is suitable for container sizes up to 1250 liters. The effective circulation of the mill base through the grinding basket is achieved through an integrated, patented pump wheel. This provides a high number of passes, and a narrow particle size. The dissolver disc mounted below the milling basket ensures a milling of the millbase within the milling container with minimal dead volumes.

Highly efficient combination of dissolver and basket mill. The TORUSMILL® TM is a patented dispersion system which allows for a particularly economic and environmental dispersion of high quality products. With the TORUSMILL® a predispersion with a dissolver disc and afterwards the extremely fine grinding with an integrated basket mill can be made in one process and one container. This innovation intelligently combines proven high speed dispersion technology with a basket mill system. |

How does the TM work?
1. The powdered component is fed into the liquid phase at low speed, wetted and premixed. The premixed product is dispersed with the dissolver disc in the classical manner, and the powdered component is then fed into the liquid phase at low speed, wetted and premixed.

2. When the powders have been added and the pre-dispersion is complete, the milling basket is lowered into the millbase. The TORUSMILL® TM now starts the actual dispersion process for extremely fine grinding. The patented dispersion system reaches excellent dispersion results and a narrow particle size distribution in a very short time. |
3. The fine grinding process is now successfully finished. Cleaning the milling system is carried out in a separate conical container in order to minimise the required amount of cleaning fluid. |
TORUSMILL® basket mills: fine grinding with basket mills
Basket mills are highly efficient batch milling systems. An integral impeller pumping wheel agitates the beads and circulates the millbase through the basket.
The milling basket is double‒walled for cooling and has a screen that retains the milling beads but allows the millbase to pass through. An efficient circulation of the millbase through the basket ensures excellent dispersion results in a short period of time.

The fine grinding process
The double‒walled milling basket filled with beads is lowered into the millbase. Intense circulation of the product is generated with the dispersion disc and integrated pump wheel. For assessment of the milling process ‒ during dispersion ‒ a product sample can be taken at any time.
When the milling process is complete, the grinding basket is raised. Product residue in the milling basket is centrifuged out by briefly running the milling and the dissolver discs.
Cleaning the milling system is carried out with a suitable cleaning fluid in a separate container. Highly efficient and robust basket mill technology for excellent fine grinding results. Benefits include:
