Water and waste: DOC, COD and TOC measurement
Monitoring DOC COD & TOC in effluent streams is a worldwide challenge to industry.
Kemtrak optical in-line process instruments can be used to replace the slow and labour intensive wet chemistry titration methods commonly used for this application. Dissolved organic carbon/DOC could be measured as SAC254/SAK254 at 254nm with a Kemtrak DCP007 and can be correlated to DOC, chemical oxygen demand/COD and total organic carbon / TOC, simplifying the measurement of organics in potable and wastewater treatment processes. Organics with aromatic or double bonds will absorb UV light at 254nm and to compensate for sample turbidity and window fouling however a reference wavelength of 400nm is used to compensate for sample turbidity. DCP007 Product Brochure The Kemtrak DCP007 LED process photometer is a maintenance free industrial photometric analyzer that can accurately monitor dissolved organic carbon. Since optic fibers are used to transfer light to the measurement point and back, the measurement cell contains no electronics, moving parts or sources of heat. Calibration is simplified using an automated QuickCal one point calibration. Contact a Fullbrook Systems for more information on 01442 876777 or email: [email protected]. |
